RAPID CITY, S.D. – Most Rapid City facilities will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.

City offices, including City Hall, will be closed for the holiday. Rapid Transit System’s RapidRide and Dial-A-Ride services will not be operating Monday.

The Rapid City Landfill will be closed Memorial Day. Trash collection is suspended Monday, with Monday’s collection rescheduled for Tuesday. Tuesday through Friday collections will operate on a normal schedule, with residents asked to leave trash out until collected.

The Rapid City Library will be closed Sunday and Monday. The Monument will also be closed Monday.

The Roosevelt Swim Center will operate regular hours from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Memorial Day, with open swim scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. The Swim Center’s 50-meter outdoor pool opens for the summer season this Saturday and will be open Memorial Day from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The Roosevelt Ice Arena has scheduled public skate from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Memorial Day.

The Rapid City Regional Airport will be open with administrative offices closed. The Rapid City Police and Fire departments will operate on normal shift schedules, though their administrative offices will be closed.
