RAPID CITY, S.D. – A Rapid City man is in custody after authorities tracked down a stolen vehicle tied to an early morning armed robbery on Haines Avenue.
Kenneth Saunsoci, 27, of Rapid City, was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery.
According to law enforcement, Saunsoci was associated with a recently stolen GMC Sierra Denali pickup truck. The suspect’s vehicle was located by authorities shortly before he was taken into custody.
The arrest stems from an incident that occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. on May 29. Rapid City police officers responded to a business, Yesway, at 3343 Haines Avenue after receiving reports of an armed robbery.
Witnesses at the scene stated that an unknown male entered the store, pulled an AR-style rifle from his pants, and demanded cash and merchandise from the clerk. After the clerk complied with the demands, the suspect fled the building toward the north.
