RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Police are investigating an unattended death.

Police say they were dispatched to a business in the 2000 block of Cambell St. for an unresponsive female lying on the ground. 

Police arrived and located a deceased female, who was identified as 79-year-old Linda Nowell of Hill City, SD. 

Upon further investigation, Linda was observed on surveillance cameras in the area on the morning of the 15^th.

No significant injuries were observed; however, minor injuries consistent with a fall were noted. Based on the preliminary investigation, foul play is not suspected at this time. In addition, detectives have been able to track Linda’s recent movements from Denver to Rapid City on the 14^th, and continue to investigate her connection to the Cambell St. area on the 15^th. 

An autopsy to determine the cause of death will be scheduled, and further information will be provided as necessary.
