RAPID CITY, S.D. – The St. Thomas More high school girls soccer team endured a challenging slate of competition over the weekend, dropping a pair of non-conference matches against eastern South Dakota opponents.

The Rapid City based Lady Cavs opened the weekend on Friday, August 28th with a home contest against the Dakota Valley Panthers. Dakota Valley controlled the tempo from the opening whistle, securing a 6-0 shutout victory. Despite the deficit, St. Thomas More goalkeeper Izzy Oberloh provided a strong defensive presence, finishing the afternoon with 11 saves under heavy pressure.

Returning to the field on Saturday, the Lady Cavs delivered a hard-fought performance against an aggressive West Central squad. West Central capitalized on an early scoring opportunity, striking for a first-half goal that proved to be the decisive tally in a 1-0 win over Rapid City’s St. Thomas More.
