RAPID CITY, SD – Authorities in Rapid City are investigating an unattended death after a woman was found deceased early Monday morning.

Officers with the Rapid City Police Department were dispatched at approximately 6:30 a.m. July 20 to the 1400 block of Campbell Street following a report of an unresponsive female. Upon arriving at the scene, police located the woman and confirmed she was deceased.

According to police, initial observations revealed no obvious signs of trauma or significant injury that would contribute to her death.

The deceased is identified as 28-year-old Amanda Hart of Rapid City. An autopsy has been conducted in the investigation and found no indications of trauma or other injuries that would contribute to her death. Police are still awaiting toxicology results in an effort to determine her cause of death.
