Rapid City police issued the following statement:
As we approach the 4th of July Holiday, law enforcement recognizes many of this weekend’s celebrations will include alcohol. It’s incredibly important that those choosing to celebrate the holiday with alcohol designate a sober driver. The week leading up to the 4th of July holiday is traditionally the busiest week of the year for the Rapid City Police Department, and extra officers will be on shift to handle the extra workload, including being vigilant for the signs of impaired motorists.
