Rapid City Area Schools is inviting community members to join district representatives on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. for a guided tour of several district facilities. The tour coincides with the district’s efforts to inform the public about the project needs in the district’s proposed $107 million bond referendum.
The tour will begin at South Middle School, where attendees can ride the bus to visit several RCAS schools. The goal is to give the community an opportunity to see the buildings firsthand, learn more about facility planning and ask questions along the way.
The tour is expected to include stops at:
- South Middle School
- Robbinsdale Elementary
- North Middle School
- Stevens High School, as time allows
At each stop, district staff will share information about the building, current facility needs, and long-term planning.
“We know not everyone gets the chance to be inside our schools on a regular basis. This is an opportunity to ride the bus with us, walk through several buildings and learn more about our schools and facilities,” said Dr. Jami Jo Thompson, Superintendent, RCAS. “We want it to be an informative, welcoming opportunity for anyone in the community who is interested in learning more about RCAS.”
