RAPID CITY, SD—Mark your calendars to swim…with the pumpkins!

The City’s Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the fourth annual Pumpkin Plunge. This popular event is free and open to youth ages 2-13. The event will be held Saturday, October 17 from 11 a.m.-Noon at the Roosevelt Swim Center.

Registration is required and space is limited to 70 participants. Children under the age of six must have an adult in the water within arm’s reach. Life jackets are required.

Participants can take a plunge with floating pumpkins and can select a pumpkin for decorating. Decoration supplies will be provided. 

“This is our fourth year for the plunge and it’s one of our more popular events,” said City Recreation Events Specialist Lindsey Myers. “It’s a free event and space is limited. Registration fills up quickly.”
