SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The highway patrol says a 46-year-old Sioux Falls woman died Thursday from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash in Boulder Canyon.
Preliminary crash information indicates the woman was riding a 2013 Suzuki Gladius 650 eastbound on U.S. Highway 14A. At the same time, the driver of a 2013 Victory Jackpot was traveling westbound and failed to negotiate a curve. He crossed into the eastbound land and struck the Suzuki.
The driver of the Suzuki sustained fatal injuries. The 77-year-old driver of the Victory, who was from Massachusetts, was transported to a Sturgis hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries.
The eastbound lanes were closed for approximately one hour.
Names of the those involved have not been released pending notification of family members.
The investigation is ongoing.
The accident was one of several area law enforcement responded to yesterday.
A second crash in Boulder Canyon was reported last evening, and reportedly involved multiple vehicles.
Another serious crash was reported Thursday afternoon near Sheridan Lake.
