RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Veterans Honor Banner Project will begin installing veteran banners throughout Rapid City early Wednesday morning, with work continuing through Thursday afternoon ahead of Memorial Day.
According to the organization, approximately 430 banners will be displayed on light standards across the city this year, giving hundreds of Rapid City families the opportunity to honor loved ones who served in the military. The banners will remain on display through Veterans Day.
In a message to participating families and sponsors, the Veterans Honor Banner Project Team thanked the community for its continued support of the program and said the project helps ensure the service and sacrifice of veterans are recognized throughout the city. The team said it is “truly an honor” to help tell each veteran’s story and noted that every veteran honored through the program receives a dedicated page on the organization’s website.
The Veterans Honor Banner Project Team said the program continues to receive strong support from the Rapid City community and expressed appreciation to sponsors and families participating in the tribute.
More information about the program, including veteran listings and banner locations, is available at Veterans Honor Banner Project.
