Rapid City, S.D. — Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) will host its annual Career Expo for high school students on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, offering a hands‑on, interactive look at career pathways available at WDTC. The FREE event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Rushmore 5 room at The Monument, located at 444 N. Mt. Rushmore Rd., Rapid City.

The Career Expo brings together industry professionals, WDTC faculty, and community partners to help students explore high‑demand fields, discover their interests, and learn about real‑world opportunities. Attendees will have the chance to meet directly with employers, participate in demonstrations, and gain insight into the skills and training needed for today’s workforce.

“Events like the Career Expo give students a chance to see what’s possible for their future,” said Melissa Ginsbach, Dean of Enrollment Services at WDTC. “Whether they’re curious about technical careers, healthcare, business, or skilled trades, this event can help students make informed decisions and connect with people who are passionate about their fields.”

Community partner, Colleen Bsharah, SHRM-SCP, Senior Career Development Consultant, Leadership, Education & Development Lead, Sanford Health | Black Hills Market added, “we’re proud to partner with WDTC to give students the opportunity to explore careers in health care through hands-on experiences and real-world connections. We hope to spark curiosity, build confidence, and help students see the possibilities that are available to them as they begin exploring their future.”

The Career Expo is open to high school juniors and seniors, and school groups are encouraged to attend. WDTC staff and industry partners will be available throughout the morning to answer questions, provide guidance, and help students understand next steps toward education and career planning.
