Rapid City is rolling out a full slate of Valentine’s weekend events, with everything from classic rock concerts and costume parties to candlelit dinners and outdoor expos. Whether you’re celebrating love, friendship, or just looking for something fun to do, here’s what’s happening around town Friday and Saturday.

Friday, February 13

The weekend kicks off at noon with the 44th Annual Black Hills Sports Show & Outdoor Expo at The Monument. Running through Sunday, the annual event brings together more than 100 dealers and vendors showcasing ATVs, boats, RVs, and a wide variety of hunting, fishing, camping, and outdoor gear. Guests can also check out the Big Buck & Bull Contest, a South Dakota Youth Hunting Adventures silent auction, and family-friendly activities throughout the venue.

At 5 p.m., Firehouse Wine Cellars hosts a Valentine’s-themed Piano Night featuring lifelong pianist David Greff. Known for performing nostalgic hits spanning eight decades, Greff’s show pairs perfectly with the winery’s happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m., offering $5 house wines for guests who arrive early.

Later in the evening, ABY’s turns up the energy with its Bloody Valentine Friday the 13th Costume Party at 7 p.m. The night includes live performances, cash prizes for costumes, and a DJ-driven dance party with heavy bass to close things out.

Also Friday night, rock cover band Stereotrip takes the stage at 707 Nightlife at 7:30 p.m. Known for high-energy renditions of songs by artists like Queen, Bruno Mars, and Rihanna, the show offers free general admission with limited seating, or VIP options with guaranteed seating and table service. This event is 21-plus.

Saturday, February 14

Valentine’s Day dining takes center stage Saturday starting at 5 p.m. at 445 Lounge, where guests can enjoy a Prime Rib and Crab Buffet complete with complimentary champagne. The evening doesn’t stop with dinner — karaoke begins at 9 p.m., hosted by DJ Pauly G, inviting guests to turn the holiday into a full-on party.

At 6 p.m., Catrachos Latin Cuisine offers a romantic candlelit Valentine’s dinner experience. With lights off and candles only, the evening features romantic Latin music and a special multi-course dinner for two, including new appetizers and paella. The event is offered as a Valentine’s-only experience.

Music lovers can catch legendary rock band Three Dog Night live at The Monument – Fine Arts Theatre at 7 p.m. With a catalog of classic hits like “Joy to the World” and “Mama Told Me Not to Come,” the band brings decades of rock history to the Black Hills. Doors open at 6 p.m., the show is all ages, and attendees must be 21 or older to drink.

Wrapping up the night at 8 p.m. is the Sturgis Buffalo Chip Poster Model Search Kickoff Party at Robbinsdale Lounge. Presented by X Rock and multiple local and national sponsors, the event features drink specials, prize giveaways, and door prizes including concert tickets. The grand prize winner will become the face of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip for 2026 and receive $18,000 in cash and prizes.
