BOX ELDER, S.D. — Motorists traveling on West Gate Road in Box Elder should expect short delays this week as pavement maintenance is scheduled from June 29 through July 1.
The work will take place daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on West Gate Road between Highway 1416 and Country Road. According to the city, the project covers the section of West Gate Road north of Interstate 90. Flaggers will direct traffic safely through the work zone, and drivers should plan for brief delays during construction hours.
City officials said the maintenance is part of ongoing efforts to improve local roads while the community celebrates America’s 250th anniversary. Drivers are encouraged to slow down, watch for workers and equipment, and allow extra travel time while traveling through the area.
Officials thanked residents for their patience as crews complete the roadway improvements.
